    1. Application

    RK-21 dilute hydrogen nitrate reduction catalyst is developed and manufactured by Dalian Reak Science & Technology Co., Ltd, which is exclusively used for hydrogen nitrate reduction process of effluent of EG manufacturing process.

    2. Catalyst physical properties

    RK-21 Dilute hydrogen nitrate reduction composition:

    Appearance: small black particle

    Size: 3-8mm

    Bulk density: 0.8±0.2 Kg/L

    Crushing strength (Average value): ≥40 N/particle

    3. Reaction principle

    Principle reaction equation:

    HNO3+2NO+3CH3OH = 3CH3ONO+2H2O

    High catalyst selectivity, No nitrocarbol and other by-products that impact EG main process generated in process of catalyst using. 

    4. Catalyst loading

    1)Strictly check up reactor to confirm spent catalyst and impurities completely unloaded. Dust and dirt absolutely clean swept.

    2)Select suitable size alumina balls according to convertor structure and dimension. Alumina ball loading required well-distributed and filled.  

    3)Directly load catalyst into reactor well-distributed and filled to avoid catalyst bridging. Covered wood-plate on top of catalyst during loading, workers required stand on the wood-plate, directly step on catalyst is not allowed.

    4)After catalyst fulfilled, covered a layer of stainless steel wire net, then put down a layer of alumina balls on the wire net.

    5)When catalyst loading finished, sweep the system by clean air.

    6)Prevent catalyst from polluting by poison gas and greasy dirt.

    7)Check system tightness and displacement by N2 gas.

    5. Start production

    1)Bring feed gas into reaction system, control system pressure, gas flow, temperature to required indicators. 

    2)Bring regeneration liquid into system. Control system pressure, gas flow, temperature to required indicators.

    3)Sampling and test inlet and outlet gas phase and liquid phase composition, hydrogen nitrate content.

    4)Control gas and liquid flow until to 100% production ratio.

    6. Shut down

    Temporary shut down:

    1)Cut off regeneration liquid supply to no liquid flow at reactor outlet.

    2)Cut off feed gas, maintain system positive pressure.

    Long term shut down

    1)Cut off regeneration liquid supply to no liquid flow at reactor outlet.

    2)Stop feed gas supply.

    3)Sweeping reactor by N2 gas to outlet NO gas content less than 0.2%, then cut off N2 gas supply, maintain system positive pressure.

    7. Spent catalyst disposal

    No other wastes generated in process of the catalyst using. After catalyst has been used, handle N2 gas system displacement, then air system displacement. 

    Unloaded spent catalyst should delivery to qualified license recycle plant to disposal.
